EASTON — Chief Keith Boone reports that the Easton Police Department has arrested a Brockton man as part of a comprehensive investigation into a shooting that occurred earlier this month.
ANTHONY LOPES, 18, of BROCKTON, was arrested and charged with the following:
- Assault and Battery with a Firearm
- Armed Robbery with a Firearm
- Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
- Carrying a Firearm Without a License
An arrest warrant for LOPES was issued on Monday morning. LOPES was later taken into custody without incident by Easton Detectives with the assistance of Brockton Police and the Massachusetts State Police in the City of Brockton. He is expected to be arraigned Monday afternoon in Taunton District Court.
The victim, a 16-YEAR-OLD FEMALE FROM EASTON, was found by police suffering from a gunshot wound to the face on Jan. 14, 2025. She remains in serious but stable condition in a Boston-area hospital.
The investigation remains active and ongoing by Easton Police Detectives and State Police Detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office.
