MIDDLEBOROUGH — The Middleborough Police Department is investigating an overnight stabbing and has taken one suspect into custody.
On Thursday, May 21, at about 11:16 p.m., Middleborough Police responded to a report of a stabbing at a home on Center Street.
Responding officers learned that two suspects had fled.
The investigation revealed that during a small gathering, an argument ensued involving multiple people. A 35-year-old man was allegedly held against his will, assaulted by two men and stabbed in the back of his head.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for injuries that appeared to be non-life-threatening.
As a result of an on-scene investigation, Middleborough Police identified two suspects.
JASON HANCOCK, AGE 43, of MIDDLEBOROUGH, was arrested at his home and charged with:
Police obtained an arrest warrant for a second suspect, NICHOLAS BERNIER, AGE 46, of MIDDLEBOROUGH, charging him with:
HANCOCK is expected to be arraigned Friday in Wareham District Court.
The incident remains under investigation.
